Salon Saturday - CLASH BOOKS’ Christoph Paul + horror legend John Langan

  • Stanza Books 508 Main St. Beacon, NY 12508 United States (map)

Join us for a night with CLASH BOOKS Editor in Chief, Christoph Paul and horror legend John Langan for night of reading and conversation.

CHRISTOPH PAUL

Christoph will read from his cult-classic book Horror Film Poems, a humorous and literary send-up to classics of horror films.

Christoph Paul is the lead singer/songwriter of rock band The Dionysus Effect, the EIC and owner of CLASH Books, and an award-winning horror and humor author.

John Langan

Langan will read a selection from his Bram Stoker award-winning novel The Fisherman, a modern classic of cosmic horror, a sort of melding of Melville and Lovecraft set in the Ashokan Reservoir. Fans of the horror film genre will enjoy the vignettes and references from Paul’s work, poets will appreciate the craft, and you’ll all get a laugh from it. Langan and Paul will discuss horror films, literature, monsters, and fear, with a particular focus on the Hudson Valley, where both authors live and work.

John Langan is the author of two novels and five collections of stories. For his work, he has received the Bram Stoker and This Is Horror awards.  One of the founders of the Shirley Jackson award, he serves on its Board of Advisors. His reviews and essays have been widely published. He lives in New York's Mid-Hudson Valley with his wife, younger son, and bubbling fish tanks.

Moderated by Christine Harrold
